Is Monoprice Zero G 35 Any Good?

We had the honor of being some of the first to review this wonderful monitor. In short, its one of the best PC peripheral purchases we have ever made. We use two 17” monitors at work, and together they are smaller than the Monoprice MP 35″ Zero-G Curved Ultrawide.

Why Did We Purchase Monoprice Zero G 35?

With this product, we now have as much or more real estate on the screen to multitask easily. But the real reason we purchased the monitor was for gaming. We’re not avid hardcore gamers but we do like to mess around with Skyrim, Doom, Fallout 4, Witcher III, etc. The extra-wide field of view is truly immersive, sort of like the ability to look out of the corner of your eye. Right out of the box our Windows 10 desktop recognized it as a 3440×1440 native resolution and automatically set it at 100 Hz.

Are There Any Drawbacks To Monoprice Zero G 35?

The color was perfect for us right out of the box. There are 2 minor cons, but nothing worth taking away a star. 1) The curvature does take some getting used to. My eyesight is not great, and when looking straight ahead during a game I’m fine, but get a little dizzy when looking left and right out of my periphery. The best way to describe it is that motion sickness most get when you are in an Imax theater or virtual theme park ride. If that makes sense. My eye muscles just need to get used to the focus changing with the sides of the monitor being closer to your eyes than the center.

This is not a bad thing, just different from a traditional flat panel. And 2) the included stand simply tilts. It does not raise or lower. For the first hour, we noticed we had to look down a bit and that started to bother my neck. But that was easily solved by placing the 3 touch points on 2-inch high wood blocks, or you could just get a monitor arm to deal with this.
